Transnational and Collaborative Film Education
Opportunity:
Transnational and Collaborative Film Education
Do you have a passion for film?
Are you interested in learning how to curate film events with peers from around the world?
Then the Transnational and Collaborative Film Education programme could be for you.
The Transnational and Collaborative Film Education programme is a new and exciting transnational film curation opportunity, created through a partnership between The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK, HKSAR), Almaty Management University (AlmaU, Kazakhstan), Queen’s University (Canada) and the University of Glasgow (Scotland, UK).
This 16-week programme brings together students from different cultural, geographical and institutional contexts to learn, connect and curate film events collaboratively. It offers a supportive and friendly space to exchange ideas, build friendships and explore how film curation is practised across the world.
What You’ll Do
Learn step-by-step through the Curate-It platform - an interactive digital course that guides you through every stage of film curation.
Take part in weekly two-hour online sessions (every Tuesday from 3 March 2026) to share ideas, develop projects, and collaborate internationally.
Work with professional mentors and fellow students to research films, discuss programming approaches, and co-curate events.
Respond to the shared theme “A Landscape of Change”, exploring how films reflect and shape transformations in society, identity and the world around us.
Gain hands-on experience in programming, marketing, budgeting and event delivery - with a dedicated budget to support your group project.
The Outcome
By the end of the programme, each group will curate and present three public film screenings and a complementary event in each location, taking place in June 2026. These screenings will also be available online, forming an international constellation of film events.
