Hong Kong 2026 Conference on Environmental Media and Public Value
Welcome to the “Hong Kong 2026 Conference on Environmental Media and Public Value", organized by the Research Centre for Creative Arts and Public Value (RCCAPV), The Education University of Hong Kong.
Time: November 12-13, 2026
Conference Venue: MP-16/F-03, EdUHK West Kowloon Study Centre (M+, Museum Drive)
The RCCAPV aims to develop and support innovative (practice-based, policy-oriented) research that describes, analyses, explains, defends, and strengthens the creative arts’ contributions to society, across the full spectrum of value. In the context of the RCCAPV, the creative arts are construed broadly to encompass well-established forms of expression such as literature, music, cinema, visual art, dance, and theatre, as well as new and emerging forms of creative expression.
Since our establishment in 2025, the RCCAPV has initially focused on three core areas:
I. Artistic Projects as Catalysts for Policy Formation;
II. The Creative Arts in the Context of Human Flourishing;
III. Issues-based, Solution-oriented Transformative Art: Global Wisdom Exchange in a Virtual Creative Arts Lab.
This conference invites scholars and practitioners from around the world to articulate new ideas, offer new concepts, encourage reflection, and forge the spaces needed for productive social transformation.
This conference aims to foster dialogue and collaboration and to feature constructive practices in response to key challenges. The 2-day conference will be anchored by 2 main themes:
Theme 1 (Day 1):
Infrastructures, Alternative Practices, and Policies of Environmental Media
Theme 2 (Day 2):
Screen Practices for Sustainable Public Value
Through this conference, we aim to cultivate a close-knit community of scholars dedicated to inspiring new ideas and approaches that advance our understanding of Environmental Media and Public Value.
